Samra has been studying, researching, teaching, and performing dances
from around the world for many years ,especially dances from the Middle East, Turkey
(Including Romany/Gypsy Dance), North Africa, Polynesia and Brazil.
She also is a creative and interpretive dancer, staging dances based in literature and individual
creations. She is proficient in various fire props such as sword, fans, pois and others . She
also uses traditional props and instruments such as Zils, Cane, Shamadon.
She teaches regularly in Virginia and North Carolina, and conducts workshops around the
world. She is one of the organizers and leading instructors at the annual Lotus Dance Retreat
in Bali, Indonesia in March www.iarasamra.artshost.com.
She has authored 5 instructional DVDs available through her website and various outlets such
as Amazon.com, CreateSpace.com and occasionally Ebay.
